January 2015: Tips, eNews and More!

So far Dr. Dan and and his family have been keeping busy in the winter but did not go away to a warmer climate during the break. They did spend three days at Stratford where their girls, Yael and Limona, loved staying in a loft where they had the whole second floor all to themselves. Having a TV on their level didn't hurt either. Even though there was no snow, there were hundreds of ducks to keep them intrigued. Being surrounded by so many ducks all quacking at the same time was a priceless experience. They said it was like being enclosed in a room with an all surround speakers set on full blast.

The girls had fun at the Kid's Museum in Kitchener where they got to lay on a nail bed as well as learn how the Egyptians wrapped their Mummies. For the first few nights afterwards Limona was scared of being in the dark thinking a Mummy will show up.

Once all the snow came Limona was the happiest in Dr Dan's household. She loves snow so much that she can just play in it on her own for hours no matter how cold it is. The same cannot be said of the rest of the Haas clan.

Both Yael and Limona had a blast at their two nights of performances at The Lion King. Yael loved having a main role playing the evil Scar and Limona enjoyed showing off her face painting that was done by Daneal. Both Daneal and Dr Dan were very proud of them both.
It was a great holiday season for Antonella and her family. They had fun shopping, outdoor skating and spending time with the extended family. They also found some time to relax.
During the break, Liat and her husband enjoyed a week off in the Dominican Republic. They enjoyed relaxing on the beach with the hot sun and doing a waterfall excursion.
Nicole had a great holiday season with lots of family and friends here in the city. In the middle of December Nicole and the family moved into their new home. She is still busy unpacking.
Celia's holiday season was a busy but wonderful one. She spent a lot of her time visiting family and friends. Her daughter Monica loved Christmas and was super excited when she opened the gift her parents got her to go see One Direction in concert; too bad she has to wait until August for the actual concert date.

Diana had a relaxing low key holiday season. She spent time with friends and family. Diana is looking forward to getting away in May.

Have a safe and healthy month,

What are Dental Inlays & Onlays?

In the past, the only way to fill a dental cavity was through silver amalgam (mercury) fillings. Today, many general dentists and cosmetic dentists like Dr. Haas and Dr. Schacht in Toronto shy away from using mercury fillings due to their potential health risks and unsightly nature. The preferred methods for cavity fillings are composite fillings or dental inlays and onlays.

Dental Inlays and Onlays Explained

A dental inlay or dental onlay can repair a mildly or moderately decayed or structurally damaged (cracked or fractured) tooth. Porcelain is a popular material used in this dental procedure; however, composite resin or other metals can be used. Our North York dental team prefers the use of lab fabricated reinforced resin due to its natural appearance and durability. In most cases, dental inlay and dental onlay restorations are undetectable, allowing clients to maintain a healthy looking smile regardless of dental cavities.
