May 2020: Tips, eNews & More!

Dear Patients,

We are missing seeing you in our office. We have grown so accustomed to touching base with you and keeping up with your lives. We are still not seeing patients in the office however we are checking our messages daily.

As a team, Antonella, Celia, Christina, Diana, Linda and I have Zoom calls twice a week and using WhatsApp to stay connected. We share our challenges and joys of being at home and how we are all managing through this pandemic. This has helped us remain strong as a team and support each other. We have all been forced to cook and bake more than ever and making funny video clips to cheer each other up. Celia and her daughter Monica are dominating the Tik Tok charts. Feel free to send us a video or photo that will put a smile on your face and we'll share it in our Zoom meetings.

We have taken advantage of this down time to do lots of professional development, much of it related to COVID-19 safety protocols.

While many things have changed, one thing at Haas Dental Centre has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our strict processes have consistently made the care you receive at Haas Dental both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) as well as Public Health. We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these bodies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We will be expanding our schedule by adding additional times in order to accommodate many of you that have had your appointments cancelled due to this pandemic.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbours and friends in the safest way possible.

Sincerely,

Dan Haas and the Haas Dental Team

Home Remedies for Dental Emergencies

With dental offices being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be difficult to receive immediate dental treatment, especially if it is not considered a dental emergency.

According to the Ontario Dental Association, a dental emergency is:

  • A severe injury to the teeth, mouth, and/or face
  • Severe infection, like an abscess or swelling
  • Bleeding that doesn't stop
  • Dental pain that cannot be managed with over-the-counter painkillers

If you are suffering, but not with the symptoms stated above, here are a few home remedies you can try to relieve discomfort.

Banana Oat Pancakes

Delicious, quick, and yummy! These banana oat pancakes require a bowl and a fork, and the batter is ready to be cooked and served with a topping of your choice. Super easy and a little healthy too!
